DON'T USE MATTLURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............

Featured Replies

Unless you want to catch a six pounder like this one.

It was really windy, and my 40 lb endura was having trouble turning.  But it was fortunate in that the wind was blowing down the length of the lake.  I put out my homemade anchor and had a really nice drift.

I had alot of action on the horny toad and the fish were bigger than usual, so I decided to tie on swimbait.

I went with the mattlures baby bass (thank you Dan  :)) and got a "no doubt about it" strike on my second cast.  I used it a little longer, but the horny toad was crushing em.

I decided to go for broke and tied on my hud.  Man casting that gets old fast.  Can't wait for my big Okuma swimbait rod to get here.  Should make life alot easier.

Anyway heres the mattlures bass.

Congrats Avid. I knew if you kept throwing it you would get a good one. Now you gotta get a 10

i was at a local pond today and tied on a swimbait too.  i did it for the opposite reason you described as the water was choclate milk and i couldnt get anything going.  my order of decent swimbaits hasnt arived yet so i was throwing a storm bait (which i did not like at all as it ran on its side no matter how slow i reeled it and wouldnt come straight to me no matter what i did) and on the first cast...fish on after about three cranks.  caught another one after that but then couldnt get anything going.  i think if i had a good bait that would have run true i might have done good with them.  seemed like if i got past the first few cranks and let the bait start to do it's thing i was out of luck.

Avid,

Nice fish.... crappy pic! ;D Please get a real camera.... I swear they are east to use and only take a few minutes to get set up. I'll kick in the first $10. You have to get used to one by the net BassResource.com trip anyway... might as well get it soon!
