What a weekend for a 1st time bass'er!

Featured Replies

Had a great weekend up at my girlfriends campsite and of course we went fishing both saturday and sunday.  Didn't do bad at all.  I'm hooked (no pun intended) on bass.  The only fishing ive done is catfish, just sit and wait game.  I love bass fishing :-)

We caught about 10 little 3 inch baby's in between, they were hittin' all day and hittin strong.  Wacky rig senko is the way to go.  She was using a powerworm.  Tight lines!

Nice but I would let Russ see that hat  ;)

You now have the 'BUG'.  There is no cure.  Enjoy it.

Be prepared to spend a lot of money and regret it later.

Good looking fish but I would recheck the 13incher's weight guestimate. That seems a little heavy for a 13inch fish.

it was fat so i dont know.  i pulled it out of the water and was surprised myself how heavy it was.  it was in the 5 pound range, it was a fat fish.

you're sure it was 15"? because it would be very difficult for a fish that length to be 5lbs. I would suggest getting a good scale, having a scale when you are fishing lets you really know how big your fish are for sure and it helps you get a good idea of how to judge fish's weights without a scale because you have more experience of seeing fish and knowing their real weights instead of just guessing.

Congrats!!!!  Now it's time to sit back relax and let the BAIT MONKEY take over!!!!!      ;D

Very nice fish for a first timer. Took me honestly a few years and gaining a lot of knowledge before I caught more then 1 bass on an outing .

Fish below is 5 1/2 - 6lb range,  none the less, great fish, and keep on keeping on. They'll only get bigger and put up more of a fight!

You'll be dreaming about hooking fish all night, (if you're not already!)

Congrats to all the newbies catching nice bass.

One word of advice.  If the weight matters to you then get a quality scale.

This "guestimate" stuff don't cut it.

I guarantee you that your fish will shrink dramatically when you actually weigh them.
