Joe and I headed out on the lake for our usual mid week fishin trip.....temps had dropped into the 80's a much needed relief. We'd been fishing for about 20 minutes and I had only caught a little warmouth......

There was only one other boat on the lake that we could see........and that happened to be my ex-husband.......I should have known the evening was going to head south right then...........

When I looked up over the massive tree tops all I could see was dark gray and black....No thunder, no wind, no lightening........I told Joe to quickly put stuff up........We HAD to ride!

He looked up and said......" it won't last long, lets just move and stay awhile". I knew better but no, I had to listen to him for once....(bad timing to start)........

We cranked up and ran across the bay to a little cove......within 2 minutes Blood River looked like coconut pie with 2-3 ft meringue. The wind had come from no where. There was thunder and lightening.......time to ditch the "Toucan". We headed for the bank. For the next 50 minutes, we stood there......I was laughing so hard......Couldn't have seen tears at this point anyway so what was the use ;D

At this point I make a note to self............."Self, after 40 yrs of having Ky Lake as your front yard....listen to yourself!" Dad taught me better.......

Had to come home and get a shower just to get dryer........ and yes, I was still laughing......

Squirrels...........gotta love 'em.....

Thats happened to me quite a few times.  I keep saying, "It'll blow over",  the wife says, "Right over our heads".  Funny how she was right.  ;D
