First Fish on a Jig! Oooh Yeah!

Featured Replies

Finally I put the time into this lure once again to see if I could use it. I never had confidence in the jig cause I tied it on once and made like a bunch of casts with nothing touching it. So I just dug it out again today and told myself I was gonna learn to use it. I was using the booyah baby boo jig in watermelon red and I rigged it with a zoom super chunk, I bounced it along the bottom and let it sit for 3-4 secs here and there and bounced it again, caught myself 6 bass. They were all little 12inchers but atleast I have confidence in this lure and now I have another lure to throw into my arsenal. I did miss one that was 14-15 inches while I was fishing it like a swim jig with a GYCB hula grub as the trailer, but what can ya do, im happy with 6 ;D. Im going to Dicks tomorrow to buy some more Baby boo jigs, any suggestions in any other jigs? Or in any particular colors?

Blue/black.

Blue/black.

NO!

Black & blue.   8-)

black/blue is probably the best colored jig you could use in my opinion.

Yep, a black/blue jig/trailer combo is a universal, go-to color configuration.  I also use browns and greens.

I tryed the Black/blue Booyah Baby Boo jig today with a yum chunk blue fleck trailer, and caught myself a 4lber. Man im lovin these jigs, I just bought myself a bunch of new ones, including some strikeking bitsy bug jigs (which I have yet to try).

Also whats the difference between a finesse jig and the regular jig-an-pig? Because from what I read the Bitsy Bug seems to be everyones favorite "finesse jig" Can I just rig the Bitsy Bug with a chunk trailer like Ive been doing with the Baby Boo Jigs? And fish it the same way?

Black/Blue is the way to go.  I will also use green pumpkin/brown in clear water but black/blue works there as well.  I just started fishing jigs extensively this year and they produce very well.  It's become one of my go to baits for sure.

Yes I'm a bitsy bug fan. I have been tipping them off with a zoom baby chunk trailer because the jig is a small jig.
