My son loves his trick sticks...another nice fish

Featured Replies

Caught this nice one on his second cast. What made me laugh was the fact that after a couple more casts he layed down on the bank of the pond and took a nap. Kind of like his work was done. I caught three fish in the hour but they were a lot smaller.....11, 9, and 13. But I did get to try out my new Avid and that thing is awesome. Caught all of mine on a green pumpkin/black flake Fat Ika. My first time trying the bait. Even though the fish were small they hit that sucker like a Mack Truck. Actually made me think they were bigger than they were when I hauled them in. Rigged them backwards and they hit it right on the fall. My son caught this big guy on a 5" * Slim Trick Stick Wacky Rigged in a Watermeleon Red Flake color. He loves the Trick Sticks and for good reason. They have produced some nice fish for an 8 year old.

Hard to get some good shots because this sucker was still flopping on him even with his hand in the fishes mouth. He definately got not just a bass thumb but bass fingers lol. All cut up. But he was happy.

Havent I seen several other pics of your son with nice bass on here? Hes going to grow up to be a pro if he already catches fish like that at his age.

Yeah I posted a good amount of him. The funny thing is that he really doesn't focus while he is fishing. Has some wild movements with his rod. But he seems to always land the big fish. He has a great hookup/landing percentage as well. Crazy. Good little smallie angler as well. If he had his way though he would rather hunt. But either way.....being in the outdoors is better than being in front of that TV.

If boys have the option, they always prefer hunting when they are young.

Shooting a gun is "big boy" stuff!

Yep he really loves going squirrel hunting with his uncle using his BB gun. Has a blast.

Quality time with the boy is what its all about. A good way to teach life lessons.

He keeps this up he will be teaching me how to catch big bass. Your right though its a great time to teach him how to respect the fishery and things you should do to become a better person and fisherman in general.
