Going Saturday

Featured Replies

WEll I'm finally getting out Saturday . It is supposed to be 62 degrees and windy.  The lake temp is 36.  I plan to try to fish the rip rap of the dam  and a couple of places where points with cover drop right into 25 foot creek channel.

Plan to drag a big jig and pig  and maybe a 4 inch worm. Also plan to try rougue around the rip rap.

Does this sound like a good plan. I dont have alot of experience fishing water this cold. I know i have to fish reall slow .

So what would you try??

Good Luck. Some of my best cold water baits have been tubes fished very slow.

Early, start with "moving" baits. Rat-L-Trap type lures or jerkbaits

might be the ticket, Grubs rigged on a jig head is another suggestion.

Later, a jig might be right.

Yeah I agree grubs are awesome during the winter.

Reaction baits first.  Then slow it down.
