Deps Buzzjet Jr.

Featured Replies

For those of you that have fished this wakebait, how did you like it? I've seen alot of mixed reviews so far.

My buddy and I started using this bait this past year. It has put quite a few fish in the boat for both of us. Have had days when that was the only bait that was working and all day long even on bright sunny days. It is a bit expensive and if you lose one it hurts !

It is a noisy bait that moves a lot of water. I'm "hooked" on it.

I prefer the regular buzzjet, one of my favorite baits. Works well with slighty choppy water.

The jr. seems to catch more small fish.

I think it is a great lure.Very different. It is a little wierd to use at first.I almost canned it after the first time I threw it.Then I figured it out :)

Produces some very violent strikes.

I threw my regular buzzjet for the first time today, but didn't have any luck.  The action is definitely erratic and I know it will produce. I liked it, so I'm going to get the jr. in the bluegill color. (I have the Matte Chartreuse)

bass_fin@tic, how do you work the lure?

Slowwwww retrieve on the top has produced for me. This bait isn't much for burning. It has a very wide wobble.Short rips on the top must be done kind of softly.Rod downwards you can crank it a little faster and it will dive about 6-8 inches.Looks cool twitched in place.

It takes a minute to get used to like I said.It can and will lose stability if cranked too fast or ripped hard because of the exaggerated wobble.

I would recommend using it in place of a buzzbait or in a situation where you might want to throw a jitterbug, and yes it works at night.
