Good job searching Google Earth.

I did it and followed the James River west and found a pond by my American Legion Post that I had no idea was there.

Fished it and guess what?  No fish.

It goes dry so no one has put fish in it.

But it was promising until I fished it.

Let us know how you do.

so your finally gonna come fish in cali...lol

suede bow tie... you should really let those four pounders go and only take home the small ones

Dave,

Part of fishing is to eliminate the unproductive water.

You have just done that by fishing the new pond and eliminating it from your list of places to fish.

Sude55bowtie, we practice catch and release and although your photo is a good one it will get a number of members upset.  Please consider releasing the larger bass and keepig the smaller ones.

Thanks.

Actually google earth is RAD. I found a few dredge canals in the middle of some woods near my house. I went to the first one and have been going back almost daily, TONS of nice fish in it! Pulled a 4 pounder last time I went. Im going back tomorrow!!!

Keep the smaller bass and let the bigger ones stay to breed , please.

Nice fish, but please keep the "kitchen shots" to show somewhere else...

Nothing wrong with keeping fish IMO, but probably not the best way to make friends around here....

That's a nice looking novelty fork on the wall there.

Up here in NY you can find a lot of ponds on Google Earth.....but it's on posted property most of the time and half the guys that own the land don't even live close to it (city dwellers).

I have a new pond to try out when this cold weather passes. A friend has a farm pond right down the road from my house that I never even knew was there.  8-)

Sorry, she was actually all spawned out, she was a tall fish but really skinny as far as girth goes. Let me assure you that theres way more bigger females in my spot. If she did have a big belly on her I wouldve let her go, but she was thinned out pretty good. Ive personally seen and counted more then 10 more big females in it, seeing them on the beds and stuff. Whats more is that I didnt pull this one off a bed, she came on a scum frog.

My appolgies, I didnt think it was so wrong to keep one nice fish for dinner. I caught my limit that day but shes the only one I kept.

Sorry :-/

No, no....no issues with keeping fish within your rights.  That is your legal choice.

I merely wanted to suggest to you about showing "kitchen shots" that will typically receive a BOOOOO

Take a picture at the lake and save yourself some headaches on here.  Friendly advice....

Nothing wrong with keeping fish to eat , just let the bigger ones like you showed in your picture stay in the lake and eat the smaller ones.
