Jobee style jig head

Featured Replies

Jobee style jig heads have come up in another post and i have a few questions about them:

What is a jobee jig head?

Is Jobee a brand name or is it a model?

When and where is this to be used?

Also what does it mean to peg a weight?

And how is this an advantage?

A pic would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is basically like having a pegged bullet weight, but easier. A pegged weight is a bullet weight that you put a toothpick into and break off and allow the wood to swell so that the weight is held in place by the pressure of the swollen toothpick. I've used Jobee hooks and they are easier and quicker than having to to get a weight and a hook out, but they seem to get snagged an awful lot. I'm not sure if that's something I'm doing or if it is just a problem with the product. Also, the hooks felt a little thin to me.

They are Gama EWG hooks that have a bullet head poured on them? The 1/0 EWG hooks are a thin finesse hook but the 2/0 and 4/0 are a lot thicker.
