to "rod" was some combo cabelas was selling.........lol.

the rod broke when my father set the hook which has its own set of braggin rights in kansas.................heh

i told my dad that the fish with its big stuck out jaw and bug eyes was probably a bit slow on the take and thats why he was able to catch him. that statement might have jinxed me since i only boated 2 fish for the day while he did well in the back.

No need to weigh or measure that fish at that lake.  You can catch 6-8 around that size every day if you get on them.

Good form guys, I might head down there tomorrow and give it a whirl

thanks guys. believe it or not theres a 2nd and third side to this story.

i was letting dad off at the dock and he caught his flip flop in the dock and fell on he wrist. this is tonight:

thats a chipped something or other, which probably needs a cast but im having a hard time gettin him to commit to a full cast.
