I am positive that the bass is longer than your shoe.  As for its true length?  Who cares?  ;D  I'm always happy when I catch a bass that size, but I'm much happier when I catch a large one.  Have you considered buying a Check-It Stick?  www.checkitstik.com.  They are inexpensive and are accepted nationwide as an accurate method of measuring the length of fish.

I would say a solid 2.5 lbs, nice fish! BTW Where you fishing behind THE ESTATES apartment community? That lake sure looks familar. I live in THE ESTATES and fish that lake often.

A small tape measure and scale could help you out better then we can!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks more like 3.5-4 to me.  You need to get a scale though.  Guessing by pictures is impossible.  Nice fish.

Do you live in The Estates?  Pm me next time you need a fishing partner.

I would say two things, the bass weighs about 2 lbs, and you need some new sneakers.

If you do a search there might me a thread on selecting proper fishing sneakers might even find some with scale on the rubber sole of the sneaker, however you probably would have to pick metric or U.S. as I am not sure you can get both ;D

haha-- Yes these are my wading in the muck sneakers... If anyone cares to donate to my new "Papa needs new fishing sneakers" fund please feel free.....

I would probably be better guessing the weight of the sneakers since I don't catch many fish that size. Most of mine are in the 7-12" size.

I'd bet it would push 3 lbs.
