my 6 year old must have the touch!

The kid always gets a nice one evry time we go out! Today we hit our local lake and the water was very high. The word on the lake was noone was catchin' nothin'! 20 minutes in my son catches a nice 18" largemouth on a watermelon, wacky rigged senko.

I, on the other hand, caught nothing...  unless you count burying a treble hook into my finger! It took 20 minutes of yanking, pushing and cutting to get it out...  quite unpleasant  :'(

;D ;D ;

Dont you just love when that happens. Out fished my family today too. Only thing that was caught was some little panfish and a 14" Largemouth bass (my dad) and my bro and uncle caught only panfish. I caught some panfish and so did my dad.

I on the other hand, reeled in a 32 1/2" Northern Pike.

thats awesome jcv, you are a fine Dad and your son's future will show the benefits of your dedication.....All children should be so blessed.

that is a great picture!

grin ear to ear!  :D

is that his biggest bass?

Thanks for your comments everyone! That wasn't his biggest bass - 2nd biggest. His biggest was 19.5" long.

The hook incident was pretty brutal  ;D ...   I didn't let it ruin my day though. Best of all, it freaked the kid out a little  ;)   I think he has a new respect for fish hooks now which is a very good thing!

He's hanging on to that fish like a reel pro.  Great job.

Is he available to give me some lessons? ;D

Looks like you guys had fun and he got a valuable lesson from his dad just how dangerous those hooks can be.
