Am I the only one....

who is having a really slow fishing season??

Had a couple decent trips early, but the summer has been difficult. Haven't had a good day in a couple months. I have had slumps before but this is getting to be a little much. Worse thing is i don't know why. I try new things periodically, but even my usual "go to" tactics have not been working.

Heading out tomorrow morning, if the wind calms down, to try to the lake at Black Hills. Hopefully the bass will be a little more cooperative then the Potomac smallmouths this morning.....

I can't say that mine is any better or worse than last year.  It's not the same as last year.  This time last year I was on a killer deep water bite but now I am getting them shallow in grass.  Just need to keep adjusting.

Mine has been very good this year. I have been doing much more fishing this year so my technique has strengthened. I think fishing gets better with expanding your knowledge and different techniques.

At the beginning of the year I was on the usual cranks and wacky rigged senkos. Now I spend most of my time drop shotting and finesse floaters.

This year has been my worst for smallmouth due to poor water flow.

This has been my best year for largemouth bass because I found some new water.

Been the worst fishing season for me yet.Spring i had an awesome time killing those smallies, but once spring left my fishing has sucked hardcore.

Today was the first time i got back on the action for largemouth(new water) and to make it even better i caught my first northern pike.I'm in love with northern pike fishing!

My season has been o.k. I guess. Considering I have spent less than half the time I would normally. My tourney season has been just o.k. a few checks with two fifth places and three in the top twelve. My fun fishing trips have been great when I can just get out and fish without worry of a time frame.

mine was ok for a while now it has been hit or miss ,,, but as far as  people  doing good =  L.B.H is   hooking up with the big ones  ,,,,,,, ;D :)

I've been having a slow summer too.Mainly because the heat makes me too lazy.

Except for a few evening bank outings, my season is just starting.

My trip today was pretty memorable, so I can't share your pain.

I certainly have had slump season though.

What helped me was to focus more on the pleasantness of the day, rather than the # of bass caught.  I actually started bringing binoculars with me and practiced identifying birds by their calls, and then locating them with the glasses.  I also would collect, examine and identify different grasses and weeds.

My outings became naturalist excursions rather than fishing trips.  It made for fun, educational and successful outings regardless of the number or quality of bass caught.

good luck to you.

Avid, the trips have been fun, well except for one when I got a leak in the boat and one that was supposed to be light winds that turned into about 20-25mph....

Bought my first boat this spring, have been having a blast playing with it. Just getting frustrated with the lack of fish, but its always fun.

Got one good one this morning, about 17 inches and a few smaller ones. The larger one put on a good show when it hit the topwater lure....

Been a good year for me also, caught my 2nd and 3rd PB, just can not break that 7 lb mark. For some reason this year I discovered patience which helped my catch rate by slowing down. Also saved some money for the Bait Monkey. Instead of burning 20 gallons of gas in the boat on the weekend I only burned maybe 40 gallons all summer. I finally stopped running and gunning maybe that is the reason for a better year.

Avid, the trips have been fun

Allllllrighty then!
