Productive weekend

Featured Replies

I started off my weekend early friday, skipped my last class and hit the pamunkey river for a couple hours. Despite the bad tide and frigid water temps I was able to pick up a couple decent smallies and about a 2lb largemouth. Nothing huge but it was nice to be out there catchin fish.

I wasn't planning on going anywhere saturday because of the cold forecast and I was goin to a party in the next county that night. But my buddy calls me up while I'm at the party and asks me if I want to go trolling for stripers with him out in the bay in the morning. Now this is an opportunity that I only get maybe 2 or 3 times a year, so I jumped on it. I met him at his house at 4 am, we hooked up his 28ft. Grady White, and got on our way.

I'm not exactly sure where we launched because I was asleep most of the ride there and didnt really recognize the landing but it was near the mouth of the Rappahanock. After launching we headed out to the bay and were by 5 and 6 foot swells. We tried trolling around the channel for a while but the waves were just to much so we headed back to the river and trolled for a couple more hours before picking up a nice 36"er and a 37"er

That's me on the right. Sorry about the long report and poor photo quality, all I had was my phone and I haven't gotten the pictures off my buddy's camera yet

Beautiful stripers. You all did great!

VMI!  A VMI cap?

And you skipped your last class, which was probably photography.

You don't wear a VMI cap after skipping class.

You can wear a Virginia Tech, UVA, JMU, Richmond, Radford or ECU cap after skipping class, but not the VMI spider.  It is even acceptable and expected to wear an LSU cap after skipping class. But that is only good if you head to the French Quarter, catch some strippers and have a wild time.

But not --- like never--- a VMI cap after skipping class.

Bad karma and that is probably why the waves were really high and you all only caught two.

So get yourself a UVA or Tech cap and skip as many classes as you wish and then catch a lot of citation stripers and bass.  ;)

Do I need to jump in and defend my state?  :P
