Heading to East Texas and need help??

Featured Replies

Going to east Texas the second week of March and would like to hit (Fork, Sam, and Toledo).  Any smaller lakes that are a must while in Texas or any general do and don't for the bigger lakes??      Never been to Texas and I'm hoping for big things.

Welcome.

Why don't you introduce yourself and sit back , kick your feet up and stay a spell.

Somebody will help you out before long.

Welcome. I could help you on Rayburn. I'm sure Catt wil do the same for Toledo.

If you want a small lake(2500 acres) to fish try Lake Nacogdoches. It is loaded with 8-12lb fish. I can help you there also.

FYI try posting your location in your avatar. It will help you when seeking information for the lakes in your area.

Welcome. Lake Fork is my home lake, and honestly i wouldn't bother with fishing any of the smaller lakes around. That is if you are coming to possibly catch a monster. If you are looking for numbers Fork can be hit of miss. So if that's the case you may want check out Lake Quitman. It's maybe 10min up the road from Fork. I just can't bring myself to fish Quitman with all of the monster bass right up the road at fork. Just my 2 cents. My fishing bud & I are actually going to be up @ Fork March 9th - 12th. Maybe our lines will cross. Best of luck my friend.

Where in East Texas are you going? I grew up there and the previous posts are the PRIMO spots. If you are limited by budget or boat, send me a pm............if not, these guys are right on. I can't put you on a monster, but I have tons of family fishing all of the "other" lakes that can put you on fish.

No boat needed if you are in this area. Back or front always has room for another. Let us know
