Slow Day, Good Quality

Recommended Posts

WNY Team Pro Snagger hit the water early today.

Quality, not quantity was the theme of the day.

I started things off with a dink on deep crank working the "back side" while Kase and Cam threw slashbaits toward the bank.

A little while later, doing the same thing, I got another dink. Then Cam gets on the board with a drop shot fish. We're marking suspended fish everywhere, but no takers.

Later, working a main point again, this time Cam's jerkbait gets whaled on the pause. "Get the net!!!"

I go into the storage, and Cam's net isn't even CLOSE to big enough for this fish! Looked like a bait net, LOL.

I get her into the net, Kase is squealing like a little girl, and Cam's like "get the scale!"

6-0.

Meanwhile, things are pretty slow. Cam drummed up another on the dropshot. Kase is busy breaking off cranks, feeding the lake gods, and fishing for squirrels, LOL.

Kase finally managed a couple of the typical dinks this lake is loaded with.

As the day came to an end, we decided to fish a bit around the ramp. No sooner was I telling Cam that I rarely catch fish by the launch, that I get a thump on my Flash Minnow. A decent fish, so I take my time with it. Nothing like Cam's monster, but a very respectable fish, for this particular lake.

All in all, a great day, and thanks to Cam for the hospitality! We'll make a trailer queen out of Kase yet  ;D

The whole day was slow.  On this lake, you can usually have a 20+ fish day, though many will be barely keepers.  On Friday evening, Kase and Cam had a 50 fish day - and this was after work!

Sunday, we fished from 7 until about 2, and between the three of us, we boated about a dozen.

I actually lived there for several years, ya know.
This is a great lake for early action.  It warms up so much faster than the other deeper lakes in the area, and much faster than the bays off the big Lake.

Check out your weather history for those days.
