shallow crankbaits

Featured Replies

You guys are all clueless. Bass Pro Shops Carolina Fat Cranks! Duh! It has a finish like lucky craft, can dive 0-5ft, and best of all it costs only, well, see it for your selves. www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=45147&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=5&hvarSubCode=1&hvarTarget=browse

Excuse me, but alot of us on here are expierenced anglers who knows what will and what wont work. The crank you mentioned isnt a bad looking crank and im sure it catches fish. But a lot of these guys that have posted including myself are very effective with crankbaits. My personal better then all other crankbait is the Rapala DT, others like Norman, Bomber, Bandit, Manns, etc.. Next time you decide to insult or imply cockyness to someone or a group of people know that your talking to anglers (some with more then 20 years under their belt) who are expierenced.

;):):o Clueless?

I am still new to this forum but I am not new to fishing. When most of these guys offer their opinion I listen because I respect what they have to say. I am glad that the BPS lure works for you but understand that it may not be the lure of choice for others. For me personally I like the DT 4 Rapala in Silver and the Lucky Craft Moonslaut CB-50 in the Ghost Minnow.

I've gotta throw in another vote for the Manns baby 1- . I love these things. They have a really, really W-I-D-E wobble. Their finishes are not so realistic, but I wouldn't get too hung up on that. With cranks you're usually going for a reaction strike anyway.

i live near the potomac river and the baby 1 minus is a legendary crankbait for this area. my experience is that they aren't very well made and that they don't last long(especially the finish) but they catch fish like a champ. seems like the fish around here just love that bait.

1. rapala dt series i think r the truest runing cranks out there im sure there r  others but rapala makes the best hard baits imo

2. manns baby 1 minus

Shad Rap SR5, LC RC 1.5 and (surprised no mention yet) Rebel Wee-R.  Yet, like some here, I'm not too concerned with realistic finishes in something that is mostly moving.

For natural patterns, you will be hard pressed to beat the Lucky Craft patterns.

Actually while they make my favorite Flat CBs (LVRs) they're patterns are too flashy to be realistic.

How is zero flash too flashy? Just look at all of their ghost patterns. They have realluy excelled in clear water for me.

Yeah your right, I dont know what I was really thinking must have been something else.

CLUELESS?????????????????????????????  WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you are a nice person . We just can't tell it by that statement.

I have found these most productive:

      manns1-minus series

      Cordell Littlte Big O

      bandit 100 series

      Strike Kings Diamond shad- lipless

You can never go wrong with chrome/blk back or chrome/blue back
