I'm in a really sad mood right now  :'(.  I lost this ponds only 6 +  pounder it has produced since 1999.  There is really no point to this thread I just had to vent my frustration  >:(.

If anyone cares I was using a Lucky Craft deep diver crankbait.

sorry about that man.  we've all been there.  but if it helps, look at it this way.   she didn't get away, she just postponed getting caught (by you hopefully.)  there's not a fish out there that's "catch proof".  given the right set of circumstances, she will bite again.  maybe she'll be even bigger when she bites for ya again.  hope so. :)

Cheer up dockmaster, what Paul said.  When you do bring him in, the victory will be that much sweeter! 8-)

You learned something.  That is an important aspect of fishing.

Wait a week or so and try the exact same bait at the exact same time.  I have caught fish that I missed repeating the scenario.

At least you know the fish is there.

Excellent advice! That fish will be there or somewhere very close,

it's just a matter of timing.

If you didn't land it how do you it was 6 pounds?  Unless you were fishing in 10ft swimming pool with crystal clear  water you don't how many 6 pounders may be lurking.

Better luck next time, it may turn out to be 8 #.
