thats a nice looking three pounds. i wont argue with it lol congrats. im glad im no longer shore bound but the one in my avatar is shore bound.

Great fish and picture.

I'm guessing that being a 'horrible' bank fisherman has more to do with the lakes your fishing. I know a couple of farm ponds that could turn you into an outstanding bank fisherman in a heartbeat.

;)

This begs another question.  Is a fisherman "better" if he is a more successful bank fisherman or a boat fisherman?

If this begs to be answered , start another thread about it.

A boat gives you more latitude with your presentations and you can cover a lot more water from a boat then walking on the bank.

Bank fishing has its perils, and throwing into the brush, trees and grass is just one of the perils that come with bank fishing.

And where are the fish?  Under the brush, trees and in the grass, so that is where you have to go to get them, unless you can find the "dropoff" or "ledge" and fish it.

Try wacky rigging a finesse worm as this presentation may produce more strikes.  We wacky rig our Senkos and stick baits, but you wacky rig a finesse worm and give it a try.

At the pond I fish at one of my client's property, I catch 3 and 4 pounders off the bank all the time.  Buzzbaits, Senkos and finesse worms usually do the trick, with crankbaits following this time of the year.

Good luck and keep letting us know how you do.  :)

i could not hook up on the buzz bait. had some really good strikes but no hook ups. as far as cranks go the only cranks ill toss from the bank are lipless, id rather not get hung up on the bank.  ;D

Skunked, do you add a trailer hook to the buzzbait?

Do you throw a Senko to the spot where the fish missed the buzzbait immediately after the strike?

Are you throwing a 1/4 ounce Cavitron buzzbait?

Ever think of throwing the white or pink weightless trick worm with a weedless 2/0 or 3/0 hook on a spinning rig with 8-pound test?

Try those wacky Senkos and finesse worms, too.

The *** plastics are excellent so get some and give 'em a try.

Use scent on all plastics. Even though some guys do not think scent makes a difference, you need something to have the bass hang onto the bait longer.

Don't forget your pliers to remove the hooks.

Let us know how you do.  :)

Sam,

when you wacky rig your senko, are you using it as a drop shot?  how do you keep it from getting snagged on every piece of vegetation?
