Just got back from a week of fishin Northern Mi. lakes.  I fished Lake Avalon, Rifle, George, Long Lake and Loon lakes.  Fishing was fantastic but the real treat was being on the water with my favorite fishing partner, my 9 yr old son.  Little ba#$#@ outfished me 12-5 Saturday using dropshots and landed this nice 4.3lber.  It was his first Smallmouth on a dropshot using an ultra light spinning outfit and 6lb line.  what a way to get introduced to smallies!!!!!!

man nice fish...was that long lake just outside harrison or little long? i didnt see any pics of long lake cuz thats my home lake. but ya nice fish dude cant wait to come home on leave and get some fishin in.

Actually, long lake in Hale.  Just off 65.  Don't be afraid to look me up when you come home.  I am always looking for an excuse to get the boat wet....

Very nice!!  That's a hell of a fish for one's first smallmouth.  He set the bar high early....and on an ultralight I'm sure he'll remember it for quite a while.
