8 pounds 1 ounce.

Normal DD Fire Tiger in 16 feet of water.

I was just about to call it quits for the day and actually working the crank bait on my way back to the trailer. Bitter sweet though as the treble hooks got her gills, bad enough that she couldn't swim away on release unfortunately. I would have liked to of seen her next spring. Although, now I could manage to get a better picture with a timer at my truck.

Way to go bud.  Nice catch.

Very nice fish.  I hate it when a fish I catch dies...especially if it's one that size.

nice fish.

Nice fish man. I have never had a big fish die on me yet, and am NOT looking forward to the day.

Nice hawg! Too bad she didn't make it

Nice fish. Your picture makes her look a lot bigger than 8lb-1oz!

That's a great catch man! Saweet.

She probably did weigh closer to 9 pounds. She was weighed an hour after I landed her, and she lost a lot of water weight and blood when she was finally weighed. Hard to really guess what she originally weighed. Maybe more than 9lbs... 24.5" long, 19" girth... an hour later. Here are some more pics, one is black and white cause I the blood in the gills is just depressing. Her gut was a lot smaller during the pictures unfortunately. I had been so successful with catch and release, it was just this fish was so large it inhaled the large deep diver and the treble got her gills through the back of her throat.

Nice fish.  That first pick kinda jumps out at ya.

Nothing in bass fishing can beat a new pb.

I caught a 7lb 8 ounce bass in 1981.  It took me 27 years to up that PB to 8 lbs.  I'm still trying for that double digit, but a nine pounder would thrill me to no end.

That fish is a hawg! Im sure she was closer to 9lbs. That fish would go 10lbs for sure during the prespawn/spawn time frame. Do you plan to get a mount made?
