Went to the pond again, I might just wait for warmer weather

Featured Replies

Fished for 2 hours , one rod with a watermelon seed 5" Senko t rigged.  One with a bobber and night crawler.

Used 2/0 offset hooks, 8lb test mono, one medium action spinning outfit, one light action.

I wonder if it's the color of the Senko?  I only have the one pack.

I fished it about as slow as I could.  Cast out about 15' from the bank.  waited a total of about 60-70 seconds before I gave a little tug, pulled it up, let it settle, repeat.

Walked about 200 yards of bank hitting several lilly padded and grass areas.

It's frustrating.

To catch fish you first must find the fish.

Try different techniques if one isn't working.

Try a Ribbon tailed worm in Red Shad color with a screw in Tungsten weight. This is a go to bait for me all year,  I'll just change weight sizes for different depths.

Do bass remember lures?

I ask because earlier, before the weather got cold, I had some success in this pond with a zoom watermelon seed colored plastic worm.  My son and I both caught bass with it.  But not since.

try texas rigging a small tube on the smallest weight you can get away with. stand about 10 ft from the bank that way you dont spook the bass. cast or pitch the tube 5- 10 ft into the water hop a few times and repeat this all the way around the lake.. i just left florida on monday and thats what was working for me. ;)

If you are fishing a pond they are there, no place for them to go.  Went only for 1/2 hour yesterday and caught 1 with a gold spoon, but in this cold weather the plastic worm seems to be the most effective, don't give up.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow.  Working nights right now that's why I'm posting at 3 am
