New PB (4.13)

Featured Replies

Took my canoe out today at the pond/small lake behind my house. I moved there last year (NJ), and I never caught anything over 2 pounds out of it,

and its filled with pickerel. This guy told me last year that he used to catch 5 pounders out of here, about 20 years ago. Anyway I pitched a rage tail lobster into these isolated pads in about 10ft of water.....and boom!!! I thought it was just a big snot rocket, and I saw the head come up, and I said OMG!! Then the adrenaline started pumping, she was barely hooked in her bottom lip. I got her in the boat and started screaming with joy. Weighed her (4.13) and realized that I didnt have my camera. And of course I dont have a camera phone. I'll quickly released her, and immediately called my dad at work. And I beat my dads PB (4.7). LOL but he said no proof? she was maybe 20 inches with a huge belly! First good size bass this spring. Caught only one other bass about 2 pds, but cant complain. Overall great day!!!

And this was all on my First baitcaster setup!!! felt great

Wish I had a pic!!

Congrats to you! What kind of pads in 10ft of water?

I dont really know, but they look just like the pads that are in shallow water in my pond, but they even come about a foot above the surface with the stem and everything. I do know its at least 10 ft. becuase I I got an anchor for my canoe that I measured the rope. IDK I maybe mistaken, if theyr'e pads or not, I'LL try doing some research

Congrats on your new PB!  :)
