This bass measured 19.5 inches and had a 12.5 inch girth. I would guess he is in the high 4 LB range. Now the funny story that goes with this bass is I was fishing with a finesse worm ( what a suprise) when he hit the bait. I thought that this bass was actually bigger than he actually was because he was putting up a huge fight even though I could not see him. The bass then got stuck in a big clump of grass and weeds. I stayed there for a minute lightly turning and pumping the bass in different directions with no results. This was not working so I took off my pants and went wading into the lake (sorry for the disturbing visuals). I waded in with the rod and real and was able to get enough leverage to get the bass out. I was then standing waste deep in the lake fighting the fish towards me while I could lip it waste deep in water...

I think I take the cake for the most hardcore fishermen at the site now.

EDIT: Fixed the epic fail giant too big pictures.

Yep, that's a good one there  ;) Way to stay with it

You did good.

Congrats.  :)

Hhaha You made sure he didn't get away. Way to go on the catch.

I had a boss that told me when he lived in Florida, he dove in the water to get his bass out of tree underwater. Not sure if telling truth or not but me forget it.

Great bass and story, pretty hardcore for sure.  Really nice looking fish!

Solid fish there, great story.

I once witnessed a guy jump off a dock and retrieve his rod and reel that a huge catfish took off with. He also landed the fish.

Good job.

i was thinking about this last weekend when i caught a bass about the same size, and came to the realization that 4 pounders are the best fighters. six and seven pounders fight well, they just swim around and tire quicker. 4 pounders shake and jump and run for cover like crazy. then again i've never fought a LM over 8 pounds.

i think it's hilarious how you always peer from behind the fish like youre hiding

Last march I dove 10ft down into muddy 56 degree water and ripped a brush stump out of the bottom to retrieve a swimbait. I didnt have a change of clothes, i finished the day. For the win.
