Tried jig w/rage tail baby craw

Never really used a jig much, maybe twice ever. Thought I would have a go at it again. I picked-up a WOODY'S 1/8oz Pro Jig Rattle black/blue and Rage Tail Baby Craw Okeechobee.

Used my Pinnacle Deadbolt Classic baitcaster which does well with light lures. I tried several retrieves but the catches were from slowly steadily dragging along the bottom. I missed 2 fish and caught 3 in little over an hour use.

One question -- Would this be a good follow to toss out after a SPRO Frog miss?

Here are my catches

For sure, a good follow up to a missed top bite is a jig, Craw, or most any sinking soft plastic. Personally, I prefer a lightweight 1/8 to a 1/4 oz T Rigged Craw because it's remarkably irresistable to aggressive fish.

WTG on the Jig n Baby Rage Craw fish you caught there and nice photo's too

Try slowing it down: Be the Bug!

Imagine a crawdad crawling over a rock and hiding.

After a minute the bug moves another few inches,

but always stops if it runs into something.

::)

Nice jig fish.  I've caught my best one in the 2 weeks I've been home on a jig and rage chunk.  I've got so much confidence in the rage craws.

chobe craw a.k.a Green pumpkin blue is a Money color. Nice job

x2 That's the ONLY rage craw color I buy, not because the rest of them don't work, but I have never ran into a situation where they weren't biting that color.

Nice fish! I like to throw lightweight jigs also. I usually don't go any heavier than 3/8.

Thanks all and also for the advice. I take it all in and use your guys info while fishing. Ive tried new tactics with success because of the people here and it is very much appreciated.

Congrats to you!  The jig and baby craws has been one of my favorites for quite a while now and never lets me down.

Yep I think this set-up matches nicely with this small lake. I dont ever see people fishing with jigs here, mostly worms and cranks, so them getting something different might help me.

Here is one I caught today heavier jig 1/2oz but still with the baby craw.
