New Tricks For 2005

I thought I would list a few things I'm going to try focusing on this year. Maybe you have some others to add.

1. Focus on jigs, starting in a couple of weeks on the Tennessee River fishing for smallmouth.

2. Texas rigged Robo Worms, bought some but have not used them yet.

3. Live crawdads. Anyone know how to rig them in a river situation so they don't look like stink bait?

I have a lot of luck using a mojo rig,as for any big fish on dropshot the biggest last year was a 61/2

lb smallmouth on a 5inch saltysling but most are between 1 to 2 lbs, not bad for ohio

Hey Roadwarrior, You probably already know this, but there is a speciall hook for rigging live crawdads.  It is long, has two hooks that sit on each side of the craedad and is springloaded to help keep it on the 'dad.  They don't actually puncture the live crawdad, more like a harness...check them out![ ;)

Hey Abelfisher!  Never heard of the harness you described. Do you know the name of it or the manufacturer? Is it available at BPS or Cabelas?

If I can find one I'll definitely check it out.

When things get slow this year, I plan on resorting to dynamite.  ;D

Some new tricks that I plan on mastering are speedworming, drop shotting, wacky worming under a float, and some two timing topwater action(a popper or walker with a plastic bait rigged behind). I also plan on getting to know my diverse collection of crankbaits a little more.

yes  ABELFISHER - we would  really  like to know  more  about  this crawdad  riggen!! Who makes it  and  were  did ya  find it??

thanks  ROD
