Where to get started

Featured Replies

I have just moved from British Columbia where my fishing experience was centerpin drift fishing. Now that I have moved to southern Ontario a whole new fishery has opened up. Particular bass fishing is a popular fishery here but I have no idea how to rig up.

I will have a casting rod/reel combo soon but can't find any information on actually rigging up from the line to the lure.

Any help would be great, whether it be links or info.

You found the right site. Read the articles and links, it's pretty complete.  I think you would be best served reading the articles rather than perusing the forum to get yourself started.

I totally agree that reading articles is the way to go but that is the problem. Although the article may tell what they are using they never go over how the lure or bait is rigged. Is the lure tied directly to the end of the line etc... do you need weights...you know what I mean.

Hi, I have a site that will probably help you.  I'm not saying the site for the brand but it's very well explained.  A good way to starthttp://videos.baits.com/

Welcome in the bass fishing world

QMaze you move to Ontario? If so what part?? Maybe we could hook up this summer for some bassin! I live right on the north shore of Lake Erie, lots of great large and smallmouth fishing here. Also if you have MSN add me - owf_2002@hotmail.com

Qmaze,

I hate to disagree with you :-[, you being new and all, but, I think the articles to which Roadwarrior is refering are the articles within this website, which, IMHO, are VERY informative and detailed regarding rigging, presentation, etc. I might agree with you in regard to articles on other sites, but a little digging on this site and I think you will be well pleased. I don't know if you've looked here yet:

It''s where I got started when I first found this web site and I learned a ton! Hope it helps and welcome to the forums. I hope I wasn't too disagreeable ;)
