if there are people on the lake driving by and i'm fishing on docks or on the bank...is it disruptive and should i find a quieter spot...i know it probably just makes sense to find a quiet spot but they are limited from the bank

I mean if its in the spring most deff find another spot....but when summer warms up it might be ok as long as there is some rip-rap near by.

I have also read that when boat wakes stir up the bottom that bass like to hang out in the cloud of muck because it gives them a great place to ambush bait fish.

While fishing boat ramps or around ferries sometimes with lots of traffic fish will usually be waiting around for the boat to stir up the water, disorientate the baitfish and then eat them.

I saw Jay Yelas Catch his biggest fish of the day right after a boat ran so close to him at full speed he almost went off the side of the boat. If ya are catching fish, just wait for it to settle and keep on fishing.

I have never had problems catching fish with boat traffic. I fish a lake that is accustomed to boat traffic so maybe the fish are used to it.

fishing around ferries???? I live in vermont its pretty hard to avoid it.lol

The only thing i can see that would make boat wake that bad is if you have a really soft muddy/mucky bottom.  If you have a hard bottom it shouldnt really get stirred up bad.  I have, however, seen times when i've been fishing humps/points/other offshore structure in the middle of summer or middle of winter, and i'm guessing that the boats noise and wake will scatter baitfish, because after a boat would go by, i'd catch a fish on a crankbait, or spinnerbait.

I fish a lake in Florida that is almost perfectly round and in the warm months it is a zoo with all the water traffic.  The trffic has no bearing on the fishing because the fish have adjusted to it.  If you are fishing an area that only gets light traffic it may spok the fish for a short period.  Fish adjust to the conditions and if they can turn a conditon to their advantage they will.  They will use the cloudy water for cover so look for the clear edge and try it.
