  1. Once the end tears rig it wacky...
  2. There is good bass fishing on the base itself! How long will you be in Kings Bay?
  3. I agree with the Senko users and also try a frog like a horny toad or rage toad. Fish them with braid and you can fish them all year long. Fish them slow when water is cooler and burn them when water is 70 or more. This is a big fish bait for sure.
  4. Looking for members in SE Georgia who want to fish tournies in SE Ga and NE Fl. Let me know if your interested.
  5. I too was fed up with paying $5 a bag for senkos so I started making my own. Like earthworm said I can tailor them to my needs to maximize the effectiveness. If fishing shallow I can make them with less salt to slow the fall rate or more so they fall like a true senko and I add alot of scent to mine. They are an inovative lure and for some reason the fish like them and I usually have one tied on every tourney I fish. Scott
  6. I also started with a simple Texas rig but now I find myself pitching sweet beavers, senkos or flukes for soft plastics. I throw spinnerbaits alot also. Come to think of it I can't remember the last time I caught a fish on a t-rigged plastic worm. I try to be versatile and not have a go to bait. Scott
  7. I make a lot of different soft plastics. Senko type, sweet beaver type, drop shot worms etc. I like to make stuff that you can't buy in the store to give the fish something different. Catching fish on a lure that you made yourself is priceless. Additionally back at the dock pulling out a bait color that no one has seen before is cool ;D Scott
  8. Might be a number of things including a faulty alarm module. Check your oil level watch your temp if you have a temp gage or if you can't find the problem take it in for service. Scott
  9. I like to throw a fluke in this situation. You can work it fast on the surface or slow it down and work below the surface and even count it down to the bottom. Just let the fish tell you how they want it. Scott
  10. My biggest LM is 10-6 from Stick Marsh. My biggest stringer 21-10 in a night tourny in Florida. I caught some smallies in MN and CT but nothing to brag about. I have also caught some spots but nothing big there either. Scott
  11. Start with ebay and see how the response is. If there is a pretty steady demand then look into a website. Scott
  12. As soon as you can get on the lake!! Just fish jigs and hard jerkbaits real slooowwww. That's what I would do. Scott
  13. I used to fish in CT in the early spring and I had my best luck with a hair jig tipped with a 101 pork frog fish slooowww on or around wood. I now live in SE Georgia and I don't have that problem any more ;D. Right now most of our fish are in a post spawn pattern. Scott
  14. It is good to eat small bass from ponds, too many bass in a pond creates too much competition for food. In this months Bassmasters Ray Scott stated that anything 15" or smaller that he catches in his private lake he keeps. Just make sure there is not alot of run off going into the pond that could contaminate the fish. Scott
  15. I will second the jig and if the water is dirty a rattling jig in dark colors also I would throw a suspending jerk bait like a gold Rapala Husky Jerk or an Xrap. They rattle and they suspend quite nice. Now is jerkbait primetime!! Scott
  16. I drop shot night fishing the only thing different is I add a rattle to my worm. Additionally I also throw a 1/2oz spinnerbait with a big colorado blade. Loud crankbaits are also effective. Scott
  17. I only buy at WalMart if it is a last minute item or something I know they carry. Our WalMart is getting worse every year as far as selection. Lots of worms and flukes but no cranks and very little spinner baits. I went to a Dicks in CT last year and they had a better selection than my WalMart so I would go with Dicks. Scott
  18. 1999 GIII Pro 185 with 150Vmax and Garmin Electronics for lakes/rivers. 10' Bass Hunter with 40lb Minn Kota for pond stalking. Scott
  19. I fish a lake in Florida that is almost perfectly round and in the warm months it is a zoo with all the water traffic. The trffic has no bearing on the fishing because the fish have adjusted to it. If you are fishing an area that only gets light traffic it may spok the fish for a short period. Fish adjust to the conditions and if they can turn a conditon to their advantage they will. They will use the cloudy water for cover so look for the clear edge and try it. Scott
  20. Bass fishing is skill. Skill that takes time on the water and time preparing your equipment the right way to get better. Occaisonally luck comes into play but if the proper preparation has been taken skill will prevail!! Scott
  21. Palomar works the best with any type of line just have to wet it real good with Florocarbon. Scott
