Read Reviews. I was going to buy a couple but now have second thoughts. Ask around before buying. Rapala are usually first rate.

I don't know. I don't like their Sure Set and paint job on those model. I prefer the original DT, I see they haven't upgrade after DT16, yet.

For some reason several forums are reporting that both Rapala DT and the DD22 lips are coming loose of the body.  Checked all mine and not one bad one in the bunch.  Not sure what is happening.

Looks like most of those reviews are old, and not specific to the DT20's.

FYI, I've never had a lip break off any of my DTs.

i bought one dt at dicks this past spring and probably only took about a dozen casts with it and i noticed a split in it where the tounge goes in.If I remember right I didnt even catch a fish on it,dont know what caused it.

You have to remember Balsa wood is pretty fragile compared to plastic. So if you need to have a lure that last a long time or just want that quality in a lure plastic is probably the way to go.

Hit a rock?  Get it caught in a tree?  Get some weeds on a hook and slap them off rather than use your fingers to pick the hooks clean?

Had a friend that any time he bought those DT s with the coffin lips they would break off with in 3 fish. Kept buying though cause they keep catching fish for him. I bought the same kind and didnt have any problems.

I broke 3 DT-16s last year. One was my fault after slinging it off a dock. The other two broke off fishing areas with chunk rock. For that reason I have been thrown Norman DD22, Lucky Craft-20, and Manns 30+. No more deep diving Rapalas for me.

Wow, sounds not too good. I can't afford to lose a good fish in 4 days tournament (KY Lake) because of that. I'll stick with DD22 & FFS. Thanks for the head up!

I throw the 16's a lot, as well as the other DT's. After the first year the DT's were out the quality got better. I broke several DT lips that year when they first came out but once they corrected the problem, I haven't broken one since. I don't have any confidence problems with them at all now.
