Ok the scenerio:

Two days before you're wanting to go fishing it rained A LOT. The lake now is up, the sun is shining, and the fish are running all over the place shallow. (You can actually see the v's in the water from them swimming)

You use TONS of minnows being chased on the top of the water, and a lot of activity from the chasers.

The milfoil is giving the bass great cover. You try worms and catch a couple, but what do you try now to catch these huge bass feeding?

If they are actually busting the surface, then how could you not try a buzz bait or a topwater--they're just so much fun!

But probably, it sounds like prime spinnerbait time, or maybe a lipless crankbait.  

Tried buzzbait.

Spinnerbait I guess I should have tried, but I was thinking rat-l trap maybe?

Also I need to add this feeding period only lasted about 1 1/2 hours.

Slug-Go (fluke), weightless & weedless.

I tried zoom flukes (or jerk shads as I call them)

I have some slug-gos in the truest form...didn't try those.

 Use a lucky craft sammy and keep a fluke tied on to follow up with, If the fish boil and miss the sammy follow up quickly with a fluke, the fish will think he injured the bait and will usually come up and hit the fluke. You may also run a spinnerbait on the edges of the milfoil, either way  I have found the conditions when the water has been up and is falling tough to say the least.

I thought possibly a jig too, but I didn't want to spook the feeding.

When bass are in a feeding frenzy and the menu is all minnows, I think you need to stick with lures that are VERY similar which is why my #1 choice would be the Slug-Go. Another productive option is the Lucky Craft Pointer, maybe the 78 size in chartruese shad.  And how 'bout a Rapala?

Also, the Torpedo. I only catch small fish on this lure, but I always catch fish. I know it doesn't have much in common with a minnow, but if they're on a feeding binge, I'm sure some will smack it.

Give a 1/4oz rattletrap a try! and burn it back to the boat!

Good day for me as I just got back from the pond. The rain poured down all day yesterday & its nice & sunny out today, similar scenerio as yours its up & muddy. Today they're crusing along the bank & I only fished within half hour. 13 fish including 6 lb hawg that hasnt hatch yet were caught on single plastic. Yum Zellamander :-X

Rattle trap, Spook, spinnerbait. I would go with the spook first.
