Hey guys, I have a friend that invited me to a small club tournament next weekend. I have been fishing a couple of times in the last two weeks and have only had one bite, I don't want to be dead weight in the boat and need some advice and suggestions on how to catch these dang fish. I have tried every thing I know (which aint much) and havn't hooked anything.

well the most basic thing i can tell you with the info you've given is as follows: practice on the water as much as you can before the tx and if you havn't found a pattern by then, just replicate the patter of the guy on the front of the boat b/c more likely than not, he's been on some fish previous to the tourney. good luck, i've got a tx coming up end of this month that i'm still not ready for and may not be by then.

worse comes to worse just follow the leader, but if i were you id figure out what kind of water conditions your going to be fishing and study some articles and stuff on here

do close to what the guy in the front of the boat is doing, if he is throwing a chugger, throw a walker. if he is throwing a senko, throw a regular worm, do what he is doing, but with a different bait.

I would talk to the boater and ask what his plan will be.  Take the tackle you need to fish his type of patterns.  Show him how to fish from the back of the boat !!
