whats the best baits to have riged up

Featured Replies

i have 2 spinning reels-rod combo

in my small pond whats the 2 baits i should have alway hooked up i was thinking a sinko and the snake lure

or slurpie brush beaver and buzzbait

give me your advice

Two types,

1. a search bait (spinner bait, buzz bait, crank bait)

2. saturation bait (worm, creature bait)

the difference between the 2 are simple a search bait is one designed to be work at a moderate speed. when you want to cover water in search of water/ locations holding fish. A saturation lure is the opposite one that is designed to be worked slow, in other words you know the fish are there, just a matter of putting it front of it an get it to bite.

Hopefully this helps

would the snake lure be a search bait or is it too big to be a search bait

both depends on how you fish it, that's the beauty of most lures they have multiple applications, but it is the one you choose to use.

so yes the snake can be used as both.

Also I forgot to mention, tie on baits that would fall in the 2 different categories, but make sure you have CONFIDENCE IN THEM

I'd leave the snake at home and take a spinnerbait and something Texas Rigged.

Yelp  ;)

For me it'd be a jig, and a spinnerbait.

X2

When pond fishing I always have a 5" senko and a DT6 rigged up.  I have upmost confidence with these baits in ponds.

Since you said spinning tackle on a small pond, I'd also consider a Strike King Mini-King spinnerbait and a floating Rapala. Those are two baits a do well with in ponds.

Personally, I would use one rigged with a senko type bait and the other a spinnerbait or a shallow diving crank...maybe a baby 1-minus or norman Thin-N

I agree...this makes perfect sense for your situation and tackle.
