Put the BAITMONKEY in the cage

Featured Replies

Well fellas I have decided to keep it simple. With all due respects to you tourney pros and the knowledgeable one RAUL, who give me more insight than I can digest sometime, bass fishin is a passion for me but I fish to get away from the pressures of life. I dont fish for money and I really dont care about the size and numbers of fish that I catch.

95% of my logged catch(not one skunked day this year) comes on plastic worm and rapalas. So I opened up the bait bag and I gave a lot of young new fisherman every thing else I had in that bag.,Lots of smilin faces ;D ;D

I will stock up on a few more sizes and colrs of rapalas mostly original floaters and some DT's and balsa shad raps. Im stickin to Zoom swap crawlers trick worms and floaters in green and black and 6 and 8 inch manns jelly worms in motor oil blak grape and grape(yea purple worms still catch fish)  AND THATS ALL SHE WROTE

i have a couple of Fenwic 6'6" med rods and thats it two rods l for worms and l for rpalas because I catch most of my fish on these any ways. I even tried gettin iin the boat without them forcing me to fish other baits, I figured it was a confidence thing.I caght with the other baits but WHATS THE POINT?

Who cares it dosent make me feel any better and its a lot of crap to carry around

Keepin in Casual and Simple in the mountains and LOVIN IT ::)

Good on you, I hope you got somebody off the couch or a young un off the street with your gifts..  I try to give a simple tackle box to a youngster every year.  Next  year I'm not giving my hellbenders away,  last 2 tackle boxes had a few in them.  A nine year old girl and 7 year old boy each had there personal best off the white/ blk hellbenders this year.  The girls was about 4.5-5lbs and the other was a 3.5lber.  Not bad for first timers.  May the bassin gods be with you!

No matter what you do or say, that sounds like BaitMonkey talk to me, specially that beginning  part: I will stock up on a few more. How much is a few more ?  ;D

The bait monkey has his claws in you muddy_man, hes convinced you to give away a bunch of your stuff so you will have to start all over again. You're playin right into his hands ;D ;D

Mysterious are the ways of the BaitMonkey.  ;D

Baitmonkey says to you "Welcome to the dark side"

Give away all our lures we did

So generous are we

Help the young bassers we did

Yes precious..............................

I can understand simplifying your game, but even if you were going with soft plastics only, there are some days when a different profile or action makes all the difference in the world. I fish a little pond that holds a lot of hungry bass. It takes about an hour and a half to thoroughly fish the entire perimeter with soft plastics. Some days I might fish a Senko and catch two or three little fish on the first go-around. A switch to a Gitzit, Fat Ika, Kreature, Roboworm or a Kut-Tail and WHAM! It all changes.

the_muddy_man, I'm not trying to change your mind at all, I'm sure you have thought this plan out, but for everyone else, we probably need more options to be successful. You just can't expect to be able to force bass to strike the lure you want to fish.

Yea Raul you right! What im doin is puttin 10 bucks aside from each check till march then I make an order from Cabelas.I like that shop once the guy in the brown truck comes with the brown box and the rest of my year is for fishin 8)

PS Roadwarrior I know you are definetly right but my last 3 logs show where I fish Which is a 335 acre Imoundment a huge natual lake and a series of ponds and strippin pits it aint holdin true. I cant force them but they continually hit rapalas and worms. What I did learn from you fellas is the presentation I started watching dying minnows and learned how to best mimic their erratic behaviors and vary both speed and stop and go retrieves whcih for me seems to make the most important difference and improvement in my fishing

a read from Baitmonkey's Anonymous: it is not surprising that our baitmonkey "gifts" have been characterized by countless vain attempts to prove we could buy like other people. the idea that somehow, someday he will control and enjoy his baits, and how much he buys, is the great obsession of every abnormal baitmonkey sufferer. the persistence of this illusion is astonishing. many pursue it into the gates of insanity or death.

We learned that we had to fully concede to our innermost selves that we were baitmonkey sufferers. this is the first step in recovery. the delusion that we are like other people, or presently may be, has to be smashed.

good luck bretheren. may the baitmonkey be with you. (DOH! I meant, god)

;)

purple worms? yes, I need those.  Tubes? Better try a package, I read somethin bout tubes.  Countdowns? well it says "Rapala" so they must be good :D.  I swear, they all say that a spinnerbait is the most excellent thing, even though I've never caught even a cold with one, I think I might try this one: it's only 4 bucks.  WOW! they even have a monkey for sale, I wonder how it looks in the water. ;D

I'm not sure which is heavier, my monkey or my tacklebox.

Fatz

Denial its a wonderful thing It works like this I have a disease that tells me i dont have a disease

BAD MONKEY :-X

So Mud where exactly is the problem? You keep fishing to escape the pressures or the rest or the world, you still get to enjoy to buy a few lures along, keeping the monkey at bay, and then give the excess to a few smileing faces. As long all elements are within reason sounds more positive then negitive to me.
