Fall Fishing 4 Large and Small Mouth Bass

Featured Replies

I live in Michigan and i was wondering when the large mouth bass start to move to the deeper water?  When they do, where do they go and what it the best lures to use?     Since I live in Michigan the rivers get really cold.  When the water temp gets pretty cold. does the small mouth stay in the shallows or do they move into the deeper holes in the river?  And do I use the same lures?  I live by a little river and they killed a green pumpkin tube. but i have went back to that river recently and have only caught 2 small ones!  Do I need to change lures or just the colors?

I'm not sure about up in Michigan but around here Fall means the bass are moving shallow again. They come up from their summer haunts as the water cools and feed vigorously on shad and shiners. Ans as winter approaches they move out again. As far as lure choice try topwaters, jerkbaits, shallow running crankbaits, and tubes.

Hope this helps.

i live in michigan, and usually you can catch them in their fall feeding frenzy until a few day s after thanksgiving. after that, they go deep for the winter

im not sure about the best bait to use, because i switch to hunting on NOV. 15th
