2006 Fishing Resolutions

Featured Replies

Have any of you made any interesting 2006 Resolutions relating to fishing? I have made two: 1) Concentrate more on that trophy bass 2) Invent a secure cage for the bait monkey.

Make the fish in Bull Shoals fear me while enjoying life and all God's creation.

Good luck with the cage for the bait monkey.

I have a couple of goals for 2006.

1.    Learn how to catch bass swimming a jig

2.    Raise my personal best (currently 7 lbs 8 oz.)

3.    Not to fall out of my canoe  ;D

1.learn jigs

2.learn spinnerbaits

3.get better at finesse techniques

4.get a boat

5.raise my pb from 2 1/2 pounds

Steve thats a good one.

#1 is that I have a 6 year old that's going to be my main partner this year. :)

As far as techniques go, this is going to be the year of the jig.

Along with the 10 million other things I'm working on. :)

#1: Remeber that the ice is not thick enough to go planking.

#2: DO NOT try to shoot catfish with a 12ga. Remington 1100 auto and slugs while standing up in a leaky 12ft. jonboat.

#3: Make more money

#4: spend more money

;D

My resolution is to catch a double digit bass this year.Last year only caught a 7 pounder.I want to get back into the 10+ club.

1) Take my daughters out fishing ( kids grow up too fast).

2) Probably throw the swim bait, get some confidence with it.

3) Solicit help for the planning, design, and building of a BAIT MONKEY CAGE from everyone here!

1) Raise personal best to a 10 lb. or at least past 7 lbs.

2) Win more tournaments.

3) Improve my fishing all-aroung in general.

I definetley nead to minimize the amount if tackle I carry around. "As a fisherman gets smarter, his tackle box gets smaller."   ;)

JIGS, JIGS, JIGS, JIGS, and plastics. All the while trying to leave the cranks and spinnerbaits at home.

3.  Fish a tournament, somewhere, sometime.

1. Get a Boat

2. Find confidence in Cranks

2) Gain confidence in soft plastics.

3) Become more consistant.

4) Learn more.

I'm going to let my partner (Dirk Jig_Lure) catch more this year!

Sorry man (eric), I had to do it ,lol, it was a wide open shot.

But for real, I will be changing my game plan this year to include the advice a certain mod here provides.  I listened last year and it proved to be very productive.

THe "Book according to Chris" will be my main consult.  I had great success each time I summoned Chris' knbowledge.  His experience is one thing but he offers a west coast viewpoint that seems to work well here in New England also.

Nothing but positive results each time he offered advice.  I strongly suggest reading his seasonal articles and posts.

I've also noticed that a few of our newer members are also chock full of advice.  This place gets better by the day.  My resolution is to use the heck out of you guys, lol!

Catch 'em up and success to all for '06!

1. I'm starting my first year in a Bass Club, so my first goal for this year is to win 1 of our tournaments this year.

2. Catch a Bass bigger than my personal best, which is 19 1/2"

3. Learn to "Find Fish"

I'D LIKE TO GET BETTER WITH SPINNERBAITS AND BUZZBAITS.

MOST IMPORTANT:  TAKE MY GRANDSONS FISHING MORE.
