Hi guys, do you prefer to keep your plastics in the original bag or place them in a plano box ?

I prefer to keep them in their original bags.

I use net bait, powerbait, and Gene larew, they each have their own scent and I don't want to get them mixed plus, I've had worms and other plastics melt in the plano boxes.

I use a Falcon FTO large worm bag, it holds up to 40 bags of plastics.

Another thing the colors will bleed onto each other.

in the original bag. some of them will even shrivel up and dry out.

I will usually put them in a ziploc bag. I used a whole box when i decided to take them out and put them in the bags.

In the bags for all of the above mentioned reasons, and also it is easier to look at the bags for the colors instead of trying to remember them.

I also keep them in the original bags because of all the above answers.

I used to put them into Plano Utility boxes, but i found that it took up way to much space and the colors would blend and the baits woule begin to dry out. I took all of the ones i had in the utility boxes and put them into zip locks. Now i just keep them in there original packs. But here is how i organize them.

I go out and buy a soft sided tackle bag, they usually come with 4 or 5 utility boxes. I take the boxes out and use them to store other things like crankbaits and stuff. Then all that is left is the empy soft sided bag. then i take giant sized zip lock bags and put all my soft plastic worms, most of which are Zoom U-Tails and Trick Worms, in one. Another giant zip-lock is for Tubes, another is for creatures and crawdads, and the last is for Senko style baits. Then i just put all of the giant zip lock bags into the empty soft sided tackle bag. This way they are all organized and they are easy to trasport around.

Like the others, in their original bags and then in ziploc bags, separated by type... tubes, senko, etc.

I also like to keep them in there original bags.  I have so many bags of soft plastics I was wondering how everyone else carries theirs.  I have a Soft tackle bag but it is full with my hard baits,  I like the idea that playmaker47 had, I was also thinking of doing this.  Does any one else have any ideas I didnt want to have to carry 2 bags but I probably will end up doing this.

I keep them in the bags they came in and then put them in a large shimano worm bag. Inside it has 4 pockets to put weights and hooks. Works great for me.

I put Zoom Trick Worms and most of my curly tail worms in the slots of the plastic box that fits in the soft tackle bag.   Works fine and makes them easier to get.

As for Chompers... I leave them in the bag. Those things stink worse than my mother in law's armpits. But the bass sure seem to like em.

i use a soft tackle bag that carries 8 large plano boxes for about 3 of those 8 i keep all my soft plastics that i use on a regular basis. however i also stock the individual boxes acording to season and for the other baits i only use once and a while i keep in the original package and through them in the side pockets of my soft tackle bag. works greak and i know where everything is.

I got an idea from another forum and i use it. Walmart has these plastic boxes that are about the size of a shoe box for about 3 bucks. A bag of any kind of plasitics fits in there perfectly. i own two and willneed to purchase a third before this upcoming season. It works very effeciently it is much like a card catalog or a flat rolodex i know no better way. good luck ike

I like the plastic box idea I might have to give that a shot.  I just dont want to have to carry an extra soft tackle bag.

I keep mine in the original bag.  I have had my worms melt and bleed.  It also helps keep in the awful smell of Berkley Powerbait.

Original bags and, like ikeslayer, the plastic Wal-Mart "shoebox".  You can get 15-20 bags in them.  I have seven of them completely full.  Thinking about opening my own bait shop next week. ;D

Dink, I have a 1 car garage full (have to kick stuff out of the way to get through) so if we go together we can compete with Bass Pro.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I use the utility boxes in my soft tackle bag.  I sort the worms etc. by color so running is not a problem.  I never use 3x because they turn to goop in the florida sun.  I use them alot so drying out isn't a major factor, but when they do I rub some smelly jelly into them and it brings them back to life pretty well.  

Speaking of smelly jelly, what does it mean when you actually start to like the smell of it?

I keep mine in the bags they came in. Then I sort the bags and put them in a gallon zip-loc. It takes up less space and I can find what I am looking for in a hurry.
