spotties wont bite!!!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I was hoping on getting a few tips about getting bass to strike.  I live in central california on lake Folsom, the water temp is around 71* sunny beautiful weather, winds of 3 mph, and im fishing off shore(unfortuantely) on an underwater man made rock wall in clear water.  My problem is, i see some bass here and there, but they just dont seem interesed.  I was using a rapala "clown" jerk bait, and i saw a good two pounder dart at it then it kissed the lure and darted back, the same fish did this for ten miuets until i got fed up and left.  I know that my appearence at the waters edge could be spooking her, but what could i do to get those deeper 20' deep bass to bite?      Thanks! ;)

Welcome aboard!

There have been (will be) many posts on how members catch bass. To start with, try a 5" Senko cast about five yards out, parallel to the bank. Work it slowly off the bottom. There is a pretty good chance you'll catch a bass.

Welcome aboard Shimano-King!  I live in Lincoln, CA.  The late weather we have had here along with all the snow in the mountians (twice as much as normal) is going to cause the water temps to take some additional time to rise this year.

welcome aboard!  It's good to see another Central Californian on the board!
