Hello fishingrulz1234....

Featured Replies

(and Glen, and anybody who might know me) I hadn't been to this forum for a very long time, but ended up snooping around over here this morning.

I was quite surprised to see (a painting of) my photo in your avatar. First of all, its not a problem whatsoever. Heck, I think its kind of flattering. But their is an interesting story along with that photo....

About 4 years ago, one visitor of my site, with a very sharp eye, e-mailed me to say;

Hey Fish Chris, I found this place selling t-shirts, and one of them looks just like you on it !

He was right. Here's the original photo; 2bb52030.jpg

It was a 12-11 from Clear Lk. Cal. It was a nice fish and all, but still, I have a lot of nicer, and bigger bass photos floating around on the internet, so I don't know why they chose this particular one.

Then, some time later, I was surfing around again and found some Hawiian Bass site using this same photo ! Huh ?

Ya' know, I don't mind these places using my photo, but just out of good etiquette, it would have been nice if they would have asked me first.

I e-mailed the place that used my photo for the painting on their T-shirt (the one in your avatar), and they replied saying, they got it from a stock agency..... So I asked for the name of that stock agency, and they never replied back.

Anyway, I had joked with my buddies saying, I bet they don't sell 3 of those T-shirts with that big ugly guy on them :-) LOL

Anyway, just kind of amusing,

Peace,

Fish Chris

ahha thats cool. i thought it was just something someone drew up because you look like a fisherman. if someone saw you on the street they would know you fish. Plus i'm a huge 100% supporter in catch and release. nice to meet you too.

P.S. that thing could eat me

Thats kinda cool. With the internet, you never know where pictures of you are going to end up. I definitely would not have expected it to be on a t-shirt. I would ask the company for money and if not money then at least a free Tee.

That was me that e-mailed you, you dimwit!  LOL!!  They took it from this article: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/catch_and_release.html

What a riot.  Glad to have you back, Chris!
