Thinking about night fishing tactics

Featured Replies

I been reading alot of posts around on night fishing and lures.  One lure I really dont see show up is a crankbait.  My question is why?  It works great for me, but maybe not you guy's.  Or am I letting out one of my secrets with this post.  Most of the time I see the usual worm, buzzbait, or jig responses. Some spinnerbait but not many.  The crank has a ton of vibration to it compaired to a worm or jig.

My favorite lures for night fishing:

1.- Jitterbug........I like the Jitterbug  ;)

2.- Spinnerbait.

3.- Lipless crankbait.

I post alot about night fishing and my reason is that I'm just not a cranker. I don't do it during the day so I don't at night either. I'm sure it would work the same as it does during the day. To me, night fishing is day fishing with a light. Nothing I do differently.

I'd be curious to know how you do at night crankin'. Sounds like a good challenge for you. One you are into anyway.

(slick name change G ;) (yup,...I'm just gonna call you by your next name in line because it was the name of a good friend of mine that was killed and I miss sayin' it. OK G?)

:)

Get you a big black jitterbug, by far IMO the best nightbait ever made...Other than that, however, I also like tossing black spinnerbaits with huge colorado blades and big black jigs.

For me, it's one of those things that seems like it should work, but I never got around to trying it very much.  I think I'll give it a shot next time I'm out at night.  Thanks for the tip!
