I was wondering after looking at some State Bass Size records, how can one go about reporting a record size catch legitimately? I was wondering because the Michigan Largemouth record seems kinda small for the bass ive seen around here lately. I have a feeling the Michigan Largemouth record will be broken soon by someone.

Michigan's big fish isn't all that small:

However, just like with some of the states there seems to be some confusion over who holds the title. Looks to me like Mr. Maloney does.

Each state can be different in their requirements so you would be best to ask your DNR:

Ironically I was just reading that link a couple of days ago.  We get our fair share of home owners who think they own the water as well.  You'd be amazed at what lengths they go to in order to interfere with fishing.  I've actually had people threaten to call the police for fishing near their docks.  I just tell them "please do, I've got all day, I'll wait."

As for the record, I'm guessing it will stand for quite a while.  I've not heard of any LM or SM caught even close to that range in quite a while.  I think 7 lbs in a tournament is the biggest I've heard.

I would love to go hunting for one though!!

I also believe that our state record will not get broken soon there may be a fish or two of the size but who knows oh take a tap measure and pull out 27" and you will relize our state record is pretty big.
