  1. That bass looks old. It has a huge head and is real long and skinny. probably seen better days
  2. Check pet stores the one I get them at is pricey 99 cents each but if you buy 10 its 6 bucks so check your local pet stores

  4. That first bass had some awesome color. How big was that pleco?
  5. i had a teacher that lived on a lake and would scuba dive and sit on the bottom he said bass would swim by in group one after another and the bass in each group were all the same size larger the group smaller the bass kinda neat so maybe its got to do with there size.
  6. having to supply gear for them would be a drag, but the look on peoples face when they catch fish might be worth it
  7. It would be nice and beneficial if they set up a program where anyone who violates a law and is issued a ticket by the department of natural resources has mandatory community service that benefits the outdoors. For these guys they need a lot more than just community service.
  8. Thats awesome! more states should run a program like the share lunker
  9. Used to be the some of the drag burning when i fished spinning reels. Ill go with bass thumb!
  10. yeah in Michigan the walleye fisherman got spoiled and the bass guys got forgotten about. Usually we have an awesome line up but this year i only saw 2 walleye fisherman.
  11. catch fish! thats how to get em hooked start with giving her something simple like a senko, spinnerbait, or jitterbug. I had a girlfriend that loved to fish she even bought her own lures and stuff it was awesome!
  12. I have a Berkley one and my friend has a Rapala both with the hook, both have been accurate. I would assume the reason that some are more expensive are are because they may have better warranty's, last longer or have extra features. as far as using them i just use the gill i believe that is the way you are supposed to.
  13. In my family it skipped a generation my grandpa fishes and helped start my interest , but none of my cousins took much interest. I did get both my brother's involved though!
  14. I just checked out the bulktungsten.com site that basspro96 referred to and there sold out of everything! must have really caught on.
  15. SBM-RL replied to DJ_28's topic in Fishing Tackle
not as dense therefore they are much larger and rust is an issue.
  16. My brother uses them and hasn't had any issues but when it comes to fishing i want every advantage i can afford so use gamakatsu hooks i have full confidence in them.
  17. Where I am i have a BPS 40 min one way and Cabela's 40 min the other direction so I'm pretty lucky. I like family owned businesses though and there aren't really and small fishing shops around here. The only ones I go to on occasion are Franks Outdoors in Linwood by my cottage (about 2.5 hours away) and this place in Mackinaw City which i don't remember the name but was very impressed i think it was affiliated with BPS. Back when i lived in Mass there weren't any BPS or Cabela's so the small shops thrived but prices were inconsistent but sometimes id hit a home run! but my favorite shop possibly anywhere regardless of size is Northern Bass Supply its in south New hampshire.
  18. Always organize my tackle all winter wont go out untill its organized.
  19. The first things i would try is shorten skirt, change speed and that could even mean try a faster one to provoke it more and draw a more agreesive strike, I would also change the color depending on the conditions if it real clear go more natural with your color selection if theres less clarity go with something that the fish can see better.
  20. Im stuck on 8lbs ive got 2 which ill take being in michigan but eventuly need a double diget! Im gunna go largemouth 7lb Smallie 5.5lb. I think thats reasonable I'm on a streak of 4 years with atleast a 6lber so i dont intend on ending that
  21. I think what makes Charlie Moores show successful are two things. 1. Alot of people can't stand him and want him to get beat so they'll watch in hope of him losing. 2. He fishes all Lakes in New England that are not televised often so NE fisherman love watching a show on a lake they just fished last weekend. When I lived there I got to fish a few lakes that were on his show so that instantly made those episode interesting to me.
  22. I thought you posted a pick of KVD joking that he can catch bass in any conditions! Scary resemblence
  23. Generally how long does it take for bass and panfish to inhabit a 1-2 acre pond thru birds or any other method minus stocking. I'm asking BC my gf lives in a subdivision that's about 5 years old so I'm gunna estimate the double drainage ponds behind her house to be 5 to 7 years old the 1 to 2 acres big do you think there is bass in there yet?
  24. Got mine end of Dec I'd order one from there site or go pick one up at the store
  25. Me and a couple buddys were fishing a farm pond and a horse approached us we didn't think much then it started grunting and stomping it then picked my friends tackle bag up launched it 20+ feet into the water it was crazy we froze and it eventuly left so we stupidly went back. A week later we where fishing for about a half hour then the horse comes back its acting crazy again but now its getting closer theres no trees obviously we aren't able to run away so we slowly started moving toward a turned over row boat we flipped it dove under and the horse started kicking the boat we had to call a couple friends to come help they brilliantly lured it away by throwing apples so whenever you see a horse be very cautious may not seem scary but think about having 1000 raging pounds mad at you its terrorfying
