  1. Do smallmouth survive in smaller ponds 7 acres or less? ive never caught any in ponds so i was wondering
  2. I loved SOWBELLY and FISHING AGAINST THE EDGE both were great and i learned alot from each
  3. O ya you have enough power to tow more than just that boat if you go to certain websites or ur dealer u can find out the exact capcity of ur truck and i bet its close to double the boat. One time i saw a guy with a real big old cruising boat probably 24 ft but big and bulky and the was towing it with a 94 four banger ranger i was like r u kidding how did u even get that to the ramp the trucks bumber almost touched the ground
  4. Smallmouth do fight harder and ive caught many largemouth that give up and tire quickly when smallies fight all the way to the boat and while ur taking them of there a pain because there still thrashing around. This could be way off but in my expeirences id say smallies seam to fight just under a largemouth double there weight my smallie a little over 4 lbs faught about as hard as my 8 lb largemouth some may disagree but thats how its turned out for me and living in Mi and Ma i catch almost equel amounts
  5. I fish out of an inflatable and its not to bad i built my own motor mount and use a 36 LB thrust wind does suck though
  6. It depends the surcumstances if i was on a boat with a live well id be taking it to the nearest store then returning it after weighed if i was bank fishing i would probably call DNR and tie the fish with braid or somethin through the gill and to a tree and wait for DNR and a scale (sound cruel but it better than killing it) My berkely digital wouldnt be considered a cerified scale would it?
  7. I would consider myself a balanced fisherman right now kinda inbetween power/speed and finesse but my friend is w/o a doubt a speed fisherman and when fishing out of his jon boat beleive me it doesnt take a foot controlled t/m to keep us moving constantly and it doesnt affect his fishing at all so its definetly acheivable it just take practice
  8. probley 20 In the spring when i was in school i took a ton of people from school fishing most were girls suprisingly they really wanted to catch some fish the only problem is they have no pateince and always think im giving them bad lures to use just bc they dnt catch a bass every cast but overall its great i love watching the look on there face when they catch a nice bass and i always make them take it off them selfs ;D
  9. Beware once you start catching lots of bass on CB's ur in trouble bc there addicting and the baitmonking has so so many to choose from and they get pricey
  10. o and the lake is about 400 acres and is connected to a few others
  11. yep the only problem is its private and its amazing and theres a few fisherman that sneak on there too and they try kicking us off and its so funny when these older guys try to intimidate you off the lake : they get real mad when they relize were not taking there crap its like r u serious we watched you sneak on too go mind your own business and fish. we should have a fish off for the spot i know me and my partner would win But ya the spot is the most amzing place ever i really plan to own a house on it one day the only prob is its in a very rich city and the cheapest home is probably $600,000 with the average being over a million so i have big dreams
  12. Id have to go with BPS i was lucky enough to live right in between the two of them in S.E. MI about 40 min from each. Three things i like about cabelas more though was there aquarium and mounts everywhere and that they sold ranger boats instead of nitro. But BPS has better selection on fishing gear.
  13. my grandpa when i was probably 4 or 5 but big tome bass fishing started on my on when i was 11 an caught a 5 pounder in a pond buried in the woods at my cottage i caught it on a live frog
  14. The stratos 201XL for sale on the marketplace and fix the seat with the rest
  15. 8 lb even yamamoto kreature in MA on a average size lake around 8 pm about a week and a half ago
  16. I Took the big one also bc you cant fit 50 3 pounders on the wall and tell the story about how you caught each one o and in a tournament those 15 5# would only weigh 25lb 10lb lighter theres a 5 fish limit so if your tourny fishing JTBASSMAN has the right idea
  17. in mi my dad has a couple jetskis a speedboat and a pontoon ive fished with all but the skis in mass i have a 10' raft with a 36 lb thrust minn kota i also have a 14' foot aluminum boat with a 9.9 merc but i left it in MI
  18. I also believe that our state record will not get broken soon there may be a fish or two of the size but who knows oh take a tap measure and pull out 27" and you will relize our state record is pretty big.
  19. Im from michigan but moved to massachusetts a month ago
  20. could be a turtle or veggation
  21. I couldnt figure out how to pm u a pic bc there is now attachment thing but hopefully u can use this if not let me know
  22. I agree they are most likely carp making the noise but ive fished a few ponds including one were i caught a 7lb 3 oz hog that my first 5-8 visits i caught a ton of fish but nothing over a pound but stuck with it and pulled out a monster so if i were you id hit them both pretty hard with big baits and topwater rather than focus on one I fish tons and tons of different lakes and ponds and have caught big bass 5+lb out of majority of them so even if a pond or lake doesnt appear to have big fish keep trying bc theres a good chance it does
  23. Ive fish probably 6 or 7 times a week but i dont go everyday i just fish more than once some days it also depends on if i get of work early or not sucks having to support yourself and your fishing.
  24. KVD i met him 3 or 4 years ago at a fishing show it was funny bc i was looking to get a good baitcaster but couldnt find one but then i saw Vandam walk by with three quantem energys in his hand didnt even relize it was him i just wanted to know where the booth was that he bought those at was so i asked he was real cool he told me he brought them from home then i forgot all about the reels bc i relize that was Vandam so me and my friends talked to him and took pictures he gave us tickets to come back the next day it was awesome he was so down to earth and actually sincerly cared about our questions his seminar was cool after he was casting hookless spinnerbaits and landing them right on peoples hats it was impressive.
  25. ya i lost a huge bass 9+lb in Mi so it was a big deal it jumped up showed itself then turned and snapped my line off i had the drag to tight.
