some advice?

Recommended Posts

Hey guy's, I'm having a bit of a problem. I have been fishing some ponds around my house and cant seem to catch anything. I have caught a few on a shallow crankbait but thats it. I have 4 pond like right in my back yard and I just wanted to know what would be a bait to use? 2 of the ponds are about 10-15ft deep with some weeds and brush. The other 2 are a little deeper 15-20ft with brush. I have tryed a crankbait, spinnerbait, and i tryed topwater one night. So if you guy's could give me some pointers that would be AWESOME!

I,m in central N.C. and since November the only thing I've caught anything on is flatsided coffin lipped cedar cranks in Char/Blue or Char/Brown. They get deep real quick and rise real slow, awesome coldwater bait. Also remember to slow down your retrieve in the winter. David

I don't know what fishing is like in NC, winter or otherwise, but I use the same assortment of lures in a pond that I might use in a larger lake. Same goes for shore vs. boat. Just choose lures that you have confidence in and that seem appropriate for the conditions and you should catch fish if they're there.

Keep throwing shallow cranks and lipless cranks until your arms fall off.
