What really makes me happy...

...is to see this. I think I like seeing this more than when I catch a fish myself. She caught it last Saturday on a flat CB 20. How about you guys? Are your better halfs into fishing?

I just went with mine yesterday.  I agree the thrill is greater to see her or my daughter catch a nice one.  I'm hoping my wife can get ahold of a lunker this spring though.  That way she'd have the fever as bad as I do.

My wife has been my tournament partner for the last few years. She has caught 2 bass over 10lbs in Mexico. She smoked me our last trip there. She has taken the big bass pot more than once.

I remember when I invited my girlfriend ( now my ball n 'chain ) to go fishing ..... she just gave me the I don't understand .. FU look. So I guess I won 't be asking her again.  ::)

It is an awesome feeling to take my girl on the lake and see the look on her face when she is fighting a good bass! The bad part is her talking smack afterwards ::)  JK ;)

What a funny thread!

I'm still lookin for my fishin' friendly  ball n 'chain.

Not to many in the area that I have met.

My wife used to fish with me almost every time I took to the water. In the last two years she's kinda cooled off(on the water at 4-5 AM five days a week during the summer can take its toll). She still fishes with me often but not enough imo.She is a fantastic T-rig worm angler(has the patience to retreive the worm SSLLOOWWLY).Her favorite bait is a Culprit 7" red shad worm. She can really slay 'em with it.She's also a very good spinnerbait angler. Her PB is a 7.2 FL largemouth. She's starting to get that bassin' fever again.

My wife used to love to fish. She was the only woman I ever knew that would get on a boat in the dark and fish till it got dark again. How many girls do you know who will do 15 hours in a boat? We went fishing/camping on our honeymoon, believe it or not, I will post some pics if I can get the scanner to work. She outfished me that week (I was a little more focused on other/honeymoon things), and she never let me forget it. I miss that woman something fierce.  We were married 22 years when she passed away with brain cancer.  Our youngest daughter (15 years old)  is getting pretty cocky about trying to outfish her old dad. We will see. Never take those awesome wives for granted boys, they might not always be there. Please don't be bummed out by this, I'm not. God blessed me to have 24 years more than I deserved with her and the memories are priceless. I get happy every time I think of her.  :)

Nope.

But she will lay on her blanket in the rear of the boat and read her books and complain about the sun, shade, wind, bugs, snakes, etc.

She is not into fishing and has no interest in fishing.

But you should see her on her sewing machine. She can sew and embroider beautifullly.  And she is an outstanding cook and home decorator, too.

She pushed me into fishing so I would not stay at home and be a pain while she sews or decorates, etc.

So she never complains about what I buy or when I go on the water.

I consider myself very lucky to have her by my side.

I just wanted to comment on your very inspiring outlook. I honestly can't find the words to describe how...right and how inspiring that outlook is to me. You, sir, seem to know what you have had and what you have in front of you. To not mourn ones passing but to celebrate the moments spent with them is a hard thing to do sometimes...I have the utmost respect and admiration for you. Hopefully, one day your daughter outfishes you something fierce. :)

Anyway...back on topic. Nope...my wife don't fish a lick. Highly unfortunate. I really wish she did. I would love to sepnd some time on the water with her. My daughter is only 2, but I hope I can peak her interest in the sport. Would be nice to have a fishing buddy like my wife or the little one. Who knows...one day... ;)

Hey Ronnie God Bless you for the hope and gratitude you bring to everything man!!!!!! ;)

My wife is more into catching than fishing.  That can be a problem when you're fishing for bass.  She doesn't usually sweat me for going though.  Both kids, 8 and 6, like fishing and I'm sure that they'll be diehards pretty soon.  I can't wait!!
