Sad News!

Featured Replies

I have been away from the forum for the past couple weeks. I have some sad news. My fishing partner/cousin/best friend died on the 15th of March. Deric Ron Wells was 26 years old. Likley murder is what the police are saying but it is still being investigated. My avatar is the tattoo I got to help carry on his legacy. Now everytime I hit the lake I take him with me. He was a dedicated father, son, and fisherman. We had been fishing together all of our lives. I will miss him our sport lost a young dedicated angler. Please pray for our family. Here is a good pic of him with a nice bass he caught.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss.  My prayers are with you.

It's never easy when someone you're use to seeing is all of the sudden gone. The time, the circumstances, It all starts coming at you from different angles and then at the same time. To lose someone like that, it can cause change in people. Let it change you for the good. Mourn his passing and yet celebrate his life! It's okay to be sad, but don't be bitter. Hold on to one of those memories that you have of a fishing trip when the fish would'nt stop biting.... and hold on to that.

Stay strong and be strong.

Hey Bassmachine, I'm really sorry to hear about this.

Hardly a day goes by (and I guess this day will be no exception) when I am not reminded of how fragile, and fleeting life really is.

I'm sure Deric would tell you, to catch a big one for him, and have fun doing it !

God bless Deric,

and all of his loved ones,

Fish

I was told a long time ago that heaven is just being where you were happiest on earth.  Bless him on his new lake where the weather is always perfect, and the fish always bite, and bless you and yours in your time of grief and loss.  To lose someone is bad enough, to lose them for no good reason is difficult, Ive been there.  Be strong, and be a source of strength for the rest.
