Anyone else have one lake or place you fish that seems to kick you in the butt every time you fish it?

Ours is Worster Lake at Potato Creek State Park. We just cannot seem to catch keepers there. I know there are keepers in the lake because i am co-director of our tournaments there and I weigh in the gorgeous limits at the end of the day. Seems there is something about our style or lure choices on this lake though...we do not have a problem catching keepers other places, but here we catch mostly shorts...EVERYTIME we fish there. It is not uncommon for us to catch 6-10 fish, sometimes more, but usually there will be just one keeper if any.

It is frustrating.

While it doesn't whip my butt every time it does hold a distinct advantage over me, Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge. The locals call it Lack of Sense because you have to have a lack of since to think you'll win.

It has produced numerous double digit bass over the years

Lafayette Reservoir , although I've caught a few decent bass there throughout my 6 years of fishing it.

I'm going back today for the first time in 8 months.

Hopefully the tables have turned.

i also fish a like where you i catch 10-12 inch bass all day..very seldom do i reel in anything 2lbs or more..it is very frustrating especially when i know the bigger bass are somewhere..but i can't find them..although it is a challenge..talk around the boat ramp is always where are the big ones!!!! so i'm not the only one that can't find them.....

 Lake Amador Calif. I have fish that lake so many times and only managed one big trout and a 2lb bass In the last 5 years. Going back Saturday to KICK BUTT. Just me no one else and i'm renting one of there over priced boats for the first time and fishing till my frigen arm falls off.! Then I will fish with the other arm for 2 more hours. The lake has some huge Bass in it. I have seen bass in the 10-15 lb range all the time but it seems that they have lock jaw.        

The local pond...I get my hopes down...so I put my rod into the pond about 1 foot by the dock and a 6 inch perch bites right away...it stinks  ;D

my home lake, Rough River/Lake.  It is the toughest lake to fish, with nearly no cover, but i taught myself how to fish under those conditions.  Now i go to other lakes and catch fish consistently

I am slowly wrestling this lake, and refuse to move on to any other lake. This place has kicked my butt, and yet, I'm still fighting to get my own footing. It has produced some dreamworthy monsters, and all it ever gives me are 1-2 pound stripers.

One day, I'll get a dream fish there.

Lake Norfork,  Northern Arkansas

It's not my Ideal place to fish, but every summer, my family go up there for vaction.  Last year was my best year (14 keepers for 6 days of fishing, thanks to RW and his Fat Ika)  Hopefully, It will repeat this year.

I just got back a few hours ago, and had a great day!

Started out slow, 0 fish in the first 4 hours . But then I took the knowledge from this site, and kicked the lakes butt for all of those years of getting skunked.

Nothing over 4lbs, but in all I caught about 12, and 4 or 5 were very nice sized.

There's hope! Go back and kick those lakes butts!

lake Girardeau in SE Missouri.  The conservation department is always saying they're pulling bass up to 10lbs out of it but I just can't seem to click on that lake.  I need to spend next year there.  It really looks like a good lake.

I catch 1 fish everytime I go to rocky mtn. pfa. Usually a 10-12"er. That's it. I don't go often.

Jokes asside, Muddy, there's some good bass fishing at Prospect park !!!!( not every day though, and not very big ones). I honed my skills there for about 6 years. It's a real challenge, but I think I have a better than 50/50 chance of catching bass pritty much anywhere I go (mostly in vacations).

Hey Sal where you from Im originally from Court St , The we moved to St Marks and Vanderbilt, over my Dads butcher shop. When i left b Brooklyn 8st and 8ave in Park Slope I caught a few bass off that duck pond by the 9th st entrance too!!!!!!

Muddy, we lived in Queens for 8 years, on 67th Place, right off Myrtle Ave.The closest "pond" to our place was Prospect Park, where I spent lots of "after work" hours. Not on week-ends( it was a mad house), when I would drive to Jersey or Upstate NY (Harriman state park mostly, or up route 17).

Ah yes Lake Tioroti,SSebago  there is 6 of them in the park and the 7th (7 lkes parkway) is Greenwood lake on the other side of Sterling Forest   I fished them

There are about 2 dozen lakes and ponds in the park, only 7(?)are right off the road, you have to hyke to the others.I remember also Askoti, Skanati, Silver lake but I can't come up with the other 2 bigger lakes.

There are some nice smallies in the Ramapo river (and trout, and carp)...
