X-rap questions

Featured Replies

I have read about jerkbaits and decided to buy a few x-raps for the spring.  What colors and sizes work best for you?  Any other tips for fishing them for SMB would be great.  Thanks.

I've recently bought a ton of x-raps and i like the xr-8 model along with the x-rap shallow. but thats only because i dont fish waters that a very deep.

but the colors that have worked best for me are Ghost, purple gold, moss back shiner, perch, silver blue and blue back.

they're really just amazing lures.

i love how versatile they are. because you can burn them, slow roll, jerk it, walk it, you name it, it'll probably work.

I use xraps exclusively as my hard jerkbait (lately I've been using a lure 1/2 the price that has been killing them).  I use xr8 for freshwater, ghost or silver.

I use xr10 for nearly every inshore species of saltwater, ghost, silver and blue.

The St. Clair smallies like the Hot Pink, Silver/Blue, and Silver X-Raps. I mostly use the XR10 size.

I use the xr 8 and 10 all spring in Hot Steel and Silver.  Love Em.  those are the only 2 colors I've tried and they produce equally, so I'm not so sure color matters.

I catch bigger fish with the bigger size but more with the 3.25 size.  I work them one way only-- fast hard jerks-- very short pauses and make sure you point your rod tip back at the lure after each jerk to maximize movement

Olive, Olive, and Olive ;)

And Olive!  XR-8 and XR-10.  Awesoem bait.

X-Raps have become a favorite of mine. Specifically the XR10 in Silver, Silver Blue, Hot Steal, Clown and Glass Ghost. Yeah, just about any color works for me.

(lately I've been using a lure 1/2 the price that has been killing them).

Tell us about his other lure.
