I have been fishing a pond on base. It is about an 1 1/2 to 2 acres, about 15ft at its deepest and heavily pressured due to the shear amount of Marines on base. I know there are bass in there because I have caught 2 small ones. I have been throwing t-rig plastics ( *** sticks, senkos, zoom flukes and lizards ) with and without a 1/4 oz bullett weight. I have also tried spinners, rapalas, frogs and spooks. These fish don't want to bite. I would day that maybe its a bad day, but it has been two weeks. I plan on going back out tonight. What can I do?

Well, you have two different extremes you could go to...Really big or really small.

Try a dropshot w/ a 3" stick or small finesse worm or go big with a reaction lure and make them bite.  Maybe try the wiggle rig, seems to be getting some results.

You could also try throwing a jig n pig or maybe a carolina rig worked slowly.

I would go w/ the drop shot using a 4 1/2 in worm. Here in Ca everyone uses Robo Worm Aarons Magic. When bass dont bite you can always rely on the dropshot worm. Get 'em

I fish a neighborhood pond alot like this.  Try a fat ika.  If that doesnt work, try the yamamoto shad shaped worm on a jig head or drop shotted, EXCELLENT for pressured fish.  If all else fails go with a tube.

You're using good lures which bass readily take. Maybe you could try spending more time there if you can during low light periods using topwaters.

Thanks for all of the advice, I went out today with the ika's. They seemed to work better. I still didn't catch large fish ( over a pound) but I caught about 5 lmb in a few hours. My best number wise at this pond. One more question though, all of my stikes came on a dead stick type of presentation. Does that mean I am working the bait wrong, or is that just how the fish prefer them. Thanks once again.

very wise move going to the fat ika.  It may just me  the most underutilized A+ bait out there.

The success with the deadsticking is directly related to the fishing pressure.

These bass have gotten smart.  They ain't gonna just pounce on something,  they're gonna need a little convincing.

So LESS IS MORE>  The less action the better.  Let the lure do what it was designed to do.

Of course there will be days when this doesn't hold.   That's why I always like to start off with a topwater, or reaction bait, but once you realize it gonna be a typically tough day, then find something the other guys ain't using and fish it s-l-o-w

Deadsticking is usually a great way to "work" a Fat Ika...  

In heavily pressured ponds- go slower, smaller or both.

my 1st go to bait is the cavitron buzz bait by megastrike this is a great bait that can be used all day long i just love to annoy those bass, and make em mad enough to hit that bait.

as a follow up i'll use a suspending jerk bait like an x rap or other rapala lure, if no takers then i'll switch to a lizard or worm t-rigged or a crawdaddy by zoom and work those lures slow then a bit faster so i can find out what the bass really want.
