What did you catch that hawg on?  I assume you are in a warm weather state.  I have never heard of a fish that big up in my parts.  Was it pre or post spawn?  It's a fish of beauty.  Your drag must've been screaming when that fish took the bait.  Nice fish.

I caught both the fish you are talking about and the 11-4 in my avatar on oversize plastic worms. The 13-1 was caught on September 3rd of last year, about as far from the spawn as you can get here in california the 11 was caught this year sometime in May I think, couple months after the spawn. They never touched the drag, drags are for sissies LOL ;D

got this Florida strain on sunday she went 10.8....just for scale that bait is 8"....my Northern strain pb is 8.0 and smallmouth pb is 5.3 unfortunately no pics.

nothing too special for the forum, but for me, this is the biggest smallmouth iv ever caught

where im at, you catch maybe 2 smallies all year
